How MoCA Adapters Work to Deliver Faster Internet

August 18, 2020

MoCA stands for Multimedia over Coaxial Alliance, which is the technology standard for creating a reliable wired network using your existing coax TV wiring.  With MoCA technology, your existing coax wiring becomes a fast and reliable internet backbone throughout your home, giving you the WiFi coverage and speeds you need to reach every room in your home.

A MoCA Adapter gives you better Wi-Fi coverage and performance throughout your home. The MoCA Adapter works with your MoCA-enabled router or pairs with an additional MoCA Adapter to create a wired network solution that eliminates any WiFi dead spots or other network issues in your home.

Setting up a MoCA adapter is easy:

  1. Plug a MoCA Adapter into your HDTV, router, access point or other device.
  2. Connect another MoCA Adapter to your router (only if your router is NOT MoCA-enabled). Your router, if MoCA-enabled, is already plugged into your coax outlet.

That’s it. With this setup, you skip extra wires, holes in walls and interruptions to your Internet connection.

Beyond easy setup, a MoCA adapter like the Hitron HT-EM2 has many benefits:

Better home Wi-Fi

MoCA adapters increase your network speeds which increases its performance. This way, you can enjoy full-coverage Wi-Fi throughout your home without the risk of spotty connection.

Better streaming & better gaming

MoCA technology uses your existing coaxial cables in your home to create a fast and stable Internet connection, so you don’t have to worry about your favorite shows or movies stuttering, freezing or cutting out. You also get pristine 4K and HD resolution right away without having to deal with standard resolution while your Internet speeds catch up.

The same goes for online gaming. With MoCA supporting your Wi-Fi, you don’t have to worry about latency or lag while online gaming.

Better video conferencing when working from home

Working from home can be a nightmare if your Wi-Fi isn’t reliable. MoCA technology makes your internet connection reliable. You don’t have to worry about glitchy or dropped video calls. MoCA makes the connection smooth and seamless, even if the whole household is using the internet at the same time.

Fast Wi-Fi speed up to 700 Mbps

MoCA adapters create a wired backbone for your wireless network. This can help get Internet speeds up to a potential 700 Mbps.

Easy setup

MoCA adapters are easy to set up and use. All you need is the adapter kit and an Ethernet cable. This is perfect for HDTV streaming and gaming with reduced lag.

Secure and reliable Wi-Fi connection

Using MoCA adapters to support your Wi-Fi network gives you a super-fast and reliable Internet connection every time you connect.
