How to get an Ethernet Connection Without Running New Wires

Sometimes your WiFi signal isn’t strong enough and you need a wired Internet connection to support your TVs, 4K video streaming, online gaming, and other smart devices. However, installing wires for a direct connection like Ethernet can be a painful and expensive project. And if you are renting your living space, you are not allowed to even consider busting into walls.

But there is a way to get an Ethernet connection without chaotic construction projects with MoCA technology and MoCA adapters. You do not need new wiring to get an Ethernet connection. You can use your existing coax wiring. Here’s how.

Converting Coax Wiring to Ethernet

You can convert your existing coaxial cable wiring to Ethernet using MoCA technology. It is quick, easy, affordable and something that you can do yourself.

How Ethernet over coax works is by converting, or combining, the link from coax to Ethernet into one. To do this, you need a MoCA adapter or MoCA-enabled router.

MoCA Adapters for an Ethernet Connection

Using two (or more) MoCA adapters:

  1. Connect one MoCA adapter to a coax jack and into your router.
  2. Then, connect the second MoCA adapter into the device you are using to connect to the Internet with the Ethernet cable.

Using one MoCA adapter & a MoCA router:

  1. Make sure you enable the MoCA technology on your MoCA router.
  2. Then, connect the MoCA adapter into the device you are using to connect to the Internet with the Ethernet cable. Make sure they pair.

Using this wired network solution creates a reliable, direct Ethernet connection for your devices that need it. By using MoCA adapters, you still get to enjoy the benefits of WiFi with other devices, but better. MoCA adapters support and enhance your WiFi network in a few ways:

  • Faster speeds
  • Stronger, always reliable connection
  • Better streaming and online gaming
  • Better video calls with friends, family or for working from home
  • Minimal wires and compact size to reduce clutter and expensive installation

By simply using HT-EM4 MoCA adapters, you can create an Ethernet backbone to enhance your WiFi connection and Internet experience in every corner of your home without costly and messy projects.
