HTEM5 – Connection Speed is Slow

If you are experiencing performance/throughput issues with the connection to your HTEM5 Coax to Ethernet Adapter, you should check the following:

  1. Run a speed test of your incoming broadband service to ensure that the broadband service is healthy.
  2. If you used your own Ethernet cable, check that it is Cat5E/Cat6 compliant.
  3. Check to confirm that your connected Ethernet device has a Gigabit Ethernet port (at least 1000 Mbps) and not Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps).
  4. Check for faulty/outdated/incompatible coax splitters and connections within your MoCA network that may be restricting speeds.
  5. Check that other devices connected to your MoCA network are not hogging available bandwidth.
