You might think that Internet means the same as WiFi and vice versa, but they are different things. Many people use “WiFi” as slang for “internet,” however, with over 50 billion internet-connected devices worldwide, it is no wonder the two words have become almost interchangeable.
You see, Internet delivered to your home is your connection to the greater “world wide web” of connected computers around the world. Within your home, your Internet connection is the data (language) that connects you to the Internet. Your modem connects to a wireless router, converting your Internet signal to a WiFi signal. Your WiFi (wireless) router transmits your wireless or WiFi signals through the air to all of your WiFi devices. WiFi allows cellphones, tablets, laptops and other wireless devices to connect to the Internet without a direct wired connection (like ethernet cables or network cables).
WiFi signals can be prone to interference, making your signal weak and unable to reach every corner of your home. If you have a weak WiFi signal, you can boost that signal to improve its speeds and performance by using a MoCA adapter or WiFi booster.
