Centennial, CO – September 23, 2025 – Hitron Technologies Americas today introduced the CGNDP4, one of the industry’s first portable DOCSIS 4.0 field meters, designed to make next-generation testing fast, accurate and practical enough for cable operators to equip technicians throughout their field organizations.
As operators evolve from DOCSIS 3.1 to extended spectrum and DOCSIS 4.0, technicians need tools capable of testing increasingly complex network environments. The CGNDP4 supports DOCSIS 4.0 as well as earlier DOCSIS standards, giving operators one field meter for both existing networks and future upgrades. Technicians working in the home, field operations, and plant maintenance techs will all benefit from reliable data to diagnose network impairments.
The CGNDP4 pairs with the Hitron ProMeter® app, enabling technicians to use the smartphones or tablets they already carry to operate the meter and view test results. Hitron ProMeter is included with every CGNDP4, with no cloud dependency for core measurement, diagnostics and validation.

Purpose-Built for the DOCSIS 4.0 Field Workforce
The CGNDP4 provides a comprehensive set of upstream and downstream diagnostic tools for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting. Through Hitron ProMeter, technicians can qualify the drop, analyze DOCSIS and RF performance, isolate faults, validate an installation and document the results before leaving the job site.
Designed for next-generation cable networks, the CGNDP4 supports spectrum measurements up to 1.8 GHz, multiple upstream configurations, 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and speed testing over 9 Gbps. Its portable, weather-resistant design and removable battery are built for technicians working throughout the network—from outside plant to the subscriber premises.
Operators can also optionally connect the CGNDP4 to HitronCloud for centralized device and software management, job-based data collection and reporting, remote access, and visibility across deployed meters. Remote access enables technicians to receive help from supervisors’ experts by sharing data in real time.
Together, the CGNDP4 and Hitron ProMeter give field teams a consistent workflow to qualify the drop, prove the signal, isolate the fault, validate the installation and leave a record of the work performed—helping operators improve first-visit resolution while preparing their field organizations for DOCSIS 4.0.
