Port Forwarding

Use this screen to configure port forwarding between computers on the WAN and computers on the LAN. You can turn port forwarding on or off and configure new and existing port forwarding rules.

Click Firewall > Port Forwarding. The following screen displays.

The following table describes the labels in this screen.

Use this to turn the port forwarding rule on or off.

Enable to activate the port forwarding rule.
Disable to deactivate the port forwarding rule.

This displays the arbitrary name you assigned to the rule when you created it.
This displays the IP address of the computer on the LAN to which traffic conforming to the Public Port Range and Protocol conditions is forwarded.
These fields display the ports to which the rule applies:
E The Public field displays the incoming port range. These are the ports on which the ARIA3411 received traffic from the originating host on the WAN.
E The Private field displays the port range to which the ARIA3411 forwards traffic to the device on the LAN.
This field displays the protocol or protocols to which this rule applies:

E Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)
E User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
E Transmission Control Protocol and

User Datagram Protocol (TCP/UDP)
E Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE)

E Encapsulating Security Protocol (ESP)

This displays whether or not the Port Forwarding rule is enabled of the trusted device connected.
Use this field to Edit or Delete the Port Blocking Rule for this device.
Click l to Edit the Rule.
Click to Delete the Rule.

Add or Edit Port Forwarding Rule

E To add a new port forwarding rule, click Add Rule in the Firewall > Port Forwarding screen.

E To edit an existing port forwarding rule, select the rule’s Edit button ( ) in the Firewall > Port Forwarding screen.

This displays whether the rule is currently Enabled or Disabled.
Use this field to select the application for which you want to create a port forwarding rule, if desired.
Enter a name for the application for which you want to create the rule. NOTE: This name is arbitrary, and does not affect functionality in any way.
Use this field to enter the IP address of the computer on the LAN to which you want to forward the traffic.
Use these fields to specify the target port range to which communication should be forwarded.
• Select SINGLE if you want to specify a single port. To specify only a single port, enter its number in both fields.
• Select RANGE if you want to specify multiple ports. Enter the start port number in the first field, and the end port number in the second field.
Use this field to specify whether the ARIA3411 should forward traffic via:
• Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)
• User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
• Transmission Control Protocol and User Datagram Protocol (TCP/UDP)
• Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE)
• Encapsulating Security Protocol (ESP)
• Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP)
NOTE: If in doubt, leave this field at its default (TCP/UDP).
Click this to save your changes to the fields in this screen.
