IPv6 Settings Firewall Level

Use this screen to configure IPv6 Inbound Firewall Rules.

Click Firewall > IPv6 Settings. The following screen displays.

The following table describes the labels in this screen.

Ping on WAN Interface
Use this field to turn IPv6 Inbound Firewall On or Off.NOTE: It is strongly recommended that you enable the ARIA3411's firewall unless LAN protection is provided by another device or software.
Use this field to permit or prohibit Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) echo requests on the WAN interface.
• Enable to permit pinging on the WAN Interface.
• Disable to prohibit pinging on the WAN Interface. Echo requests to the WAN Interface are silently ignored.

Add IPv6 Inbound Firewall Rule

Use this field to Add an IPv6 Inbound Firewall Rule.

Click Firewall > IPv6 Settings > Add Rule.  The following screen displays.

Click Add Rule to add an IPv6 Inbound Firewall Rule.
Use this field to select whether the filtering rule should be active or not.
• Enable to activate the rule. Matching traffic will be blocked.
• Disable to deactivate the rule. Matching traffic will not be blocked.
Use this field to select the application for which you want to create an Inbound Rule, if desired.
Enter a name for the application that you want to create the rule for.
NOTE: This name is arbitrary and does not affect functionality in any way.
Use this field to specify to specify the Protocol that the ARIA3411 Ipv6 firewall should filter via:
• Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)
• User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
• Both TCP and UDP (TCP/UDP)
NOTE: If in doubt, leave this field at its default (TCP).
Use this field to specify to specify the Protocol that the ARIA3411 Ipv6 firewall should filter via:
• Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)
• User Datagram Protocol (UDP)
• Both TCP and UDP (TCP/UDP)
Use this field to specify the start and end port for which this filtering rule applies. These are the ports to which traffic will be blocked.
Enter the start port number in the first field, and the end port number in the second field.
To specify only a single port, enter its number in both fields.
Use this field to enter a specific IP address or any IP address from the Local to the Inbound Filter Rule.
• Select Any for any IP address from the LAN.
• Select Specific to add an IP address for the rule.
Click this to save your changes to the fields in this screen.

Edit/Delete IPv6 Inbound Firewall Rule

The following table describes the labels in this screen.

This displays the arbitrary name you assigned to the rule when you created it.
This displays the start and end port for which this filtering rule applies.
This displays the type of communications that are not permitted:
• TCP displays if communications via the Transmission Control Protocol are not permitted.
• UDP displays if communications via the User Datagram Protocol are not permitted.
• TCP/UDP displays if communications via the Transmission Control Protocol and the User Datagram Protocol are not permitted.
Displays Local IP Address
Displays Remote IP/CIDR
This field displays whether the filtering rule is active or not.
• Enable to activate the rule. Matching traffic will be blocked.
• Disable to deactivate the rule. Matching traffic will not be blocked.
Use this field to Edit or Delete the IPv6 Rule for this device.
Click Edit icon to Edit the Rule.
Click Delete icon to Delete the Rule.
